Users with action assignment update rights can change the due date of an action result.
- Changes to the due date can be made irrespective of the action result status, i.e Not Started, Overdue, Progress, Positive and Negative Statuses.
- The new due date has to be in the future (greater than the date on which the change is being made).
Changing the due date of an action result
To change an action result due date, first navigate to the assignment screen of the action that you want to change. You can do this by clicking on Actions at the top of the screen:
Then on the Actions list screen, click on the ellipsis to the right of the action that you want and select View Assignment:
Changing the due date of an action that repeats
For repeating actions, you will need to click on the ellipsis next to View Results and select Result Due Date Change:
You will then need to select the result that needs to be changed in the Result Due Dates available for change field, then provide the new due date and provide a reason for the due date change:
Then select Change Due Date.
For repeated Actions the following rules apply:
- Only action results due in the next 365 days are available for due date change.
- The due date of an earlier repeat can be changed to be greater than a later repeat, i.e the due date of repeat 2 can be changed to be greater than the due date of repeat 3, but the sequence of the repeats will remain the same.
- More than one repeat of the same assignment cannot have the same due date.
Changing the Due Date of an Action that is "Not Repeated"
For Actions with the Repeat Type, Not Repeated, you can change the due date by clicking on the date under Due Date. and changing it to the new due date:
With not repeated actions, when the due date is changed the user is not asked for a reason for the change.
What happens after an action result due date is changed?
- The action result will now be due on the new due date.
- The Action Result Due Date will be displayed with a blue dot. When the User mouses over the blue dot, the Original Due Date and Due Date Updated By Details will be displayed.
- The Action Result History will reflect the Due Date Change and the reason for the change (except for changes to not repeated actions where no reason for change is recorded)
- The metadata field Result Updated By will be updated.
- You will need to notify the person/s responsible for the action that you have changed an action result due date. Folio does not notify person/s responsible of due date changes.
