A launchpad can be created by Super Users, Administrators or Business Unit Managers.
You are able to add the following items to a launchpad.
- Folio Public link
- Folio Create Link
- Checklist Create Links
- Documents
- Launchpads
- Instruction
- Section
- Home
Creating a New Launchpad
To create a new Launchpad, go to the Admin Gearwheel, then click on Launchpads.
You will then see a list of all Launchpads you have in Folio. To create a new one Click on + Create Launchpad.
Click on + Create Launchpad
You will then need to give your new launchpad a name, and then click create.
You will then be taken to the Launchpad setup screen for your newly created Launchpad.
Setting up a Launchpad
You can change launchpad settings by by clicking on the ellipsis and then clicking Settings.
Settings allows you to make changes to the following:
- Launchpad Title - appears at the top of every launchpad.
- Card Style
- Header Background Colour
- Launchpad Description - The description that appears underneath the launchpad title
- The launchpad’s Card Title & Icon when used on another Launchpad
The Card Style supports two options:
- Detailed: the default option is Detailed, which displays the full card including the description.
- Compact: The Compact option only shows the Icon & Card Title.
The Launchpad Card Settings enable you to set what the launchpad card will look like if it is added to another launchpad.
You can select the Title, Icon, Colour and Description of the card.
You can also edit the Title of the launchpad by hovering over it and clicking on the pencil icon to edit.
The header background colour can be changed by clicking anywhere on the header. You can select from the colour options or enter the hex code to add a colour of your choice.
You can also add a description to the launchpad by clicking on the pencil icon next to Add a Description or by editing an existing description.
Adding Cards to the Launchpad
The launchpad is made up of items which appear as cards on the launchpad. The cards can be re-arranged by dragging and dropping the Card, Section or Instruction to where you want.
The Cards you are able to add are
- Public Links
- Create Links
- Checklists Create Links
- Documents
- Launchpads
- Home (return to the Folio Dashboard)
You can also use Sections to group cards together and Instructions to break up cards and provide additional information
The setup screen of the launchpad is a preview of what the user will see on the launchpad. If the launchpad is activated you can also click on the Go to Launchpad button to see the full preview of the launchpad.
Adding Public Link and Create Links to a Launchpad
To add a Public/Create link to the launchpad, click on the Public Links or the Create Links buttons.
Select the Public/Create links you want to add from the dropdown and then click add. Only Active Public Links or Create Links will be displayed.
The links you selected will then be added to the launchpad as cards
Adding Checklist Create Links to a Launchpad
To add a Checklist Create link to the launchpad click on the Checklist button.
Select the Checklist Create links you want to add from the dropdown and then click add. The Checklist Create Link must be active for the Checklist to be displayed.
The links will then be added to the launchpad as cards
Adding a Document to a Launchpad
To add a Policy & Procedure Document to the launchpad click on the Documents button
Then select the documents you want to add from the dropdown, and click add.
The documents selected will then be added to the launchpad as cards
Users will need access rights to access these documents unless the Document has been set to publicly accessible.
Adding Launchpad to a Launchpad
Sometimes a launchpad may need to link to another launchpad. For example your risk and compliance launchpad may need to link to your information security launchpad.
To add a Link to another launchpad click the Launchpads button, then select the launchpad from the dropdown of launchpads.
The launchpad will be added as a card to the other launchpad.
Adding Instructions to a Launchpad
Instructions are a good way to separate information on a launchpad.
To add an instruction click on + Instructions
Type in what you want the instruction to say, and then select the colour for the instruction box.
Click add and your new instructions will appear on the launchpad.
To edit the instruction simply click on the text and the edit modal will appear, allowing you to change the text and the colour of the instruction
Adding Sections to a Launchpad
You can use Sections to group cards on your launchpad.
To add a section click on the Section button.
Give the section a Name, and you can also select the section background colour using the Colour option.
The section will be added to the end of the launchpad, you can drag any cards into the section.
Also when you go to add a new card into the launchpad you will now see the option to add the card directly to an section.
You can also drag a section to place it where you would like. All cards in the section will move along with the section.
Adding Home to a Launchpad
You can also add a link to your Folio home dashboard to the launchpad which when clicked will take the user to the login screen and then their home page - which allows them to see their To-Do list and other snapshots.
Click on the Home button to add it to the launchpad.
You will then be able to give the card a name, add instructions and choose the icon that the card will have.
Bookmarking a Launchpad
Launchpads can be added to the Bookmark Snapshot on the Home Dashboard.
You can either add it to the Bookmark Snapshot for all Users by clicking on All Business Units. Or you can add it to users based on their business unit by selecting Selected Business Units and selecting which Business units should see the launchpad on their bookmark snapshot.
Activating & Deactivating a Launchpad
Launchpads must be activated before they are used. If a user scans a QR code or clicks on the link for an inactive Launchpad they will see the following message:
To activate the launchpad, click on the Activate button
At any time if you would like to make the launchpad inactive, immediately stopping access, click on the Deactivate button.
Copying a Launchpad
You are also able to copy a launchpad to create a new one, first click on the ellipsis and then click copy.
You will then see the new launchpad made with the title “Copy of …”. You can now start setting up your new launchpad using the steps above.
