We are making some changes to how Folio sends and receives emails. Here they are:
- The Email Address that Folio uses to send your team and any other Folio users Notifications is changing to noreply@foliogrc.com
- We are making this change as part of a shift of our email sending and receiving infrastructure to the reliable AWS Amazon SES platform.
- Your Email to Folio Email Address will also change.
When will these changes be implemented?
These changes are scheduled to be implemented on October 21, 2023 at 9AM AEDST with a scheduled outage window of approximately 2 hours.
I am a Folio Super User/ Administrator, what do I do?
As a Folio Super User or Administrator there are a few things you should do:
- Notify your IT Team to whitelist the new Folio Notifications Email Address noreply@foliogrc.com on your email server (Currently Folio sends from noreply@kwelasolutions.com)
- Please inform your users of this change, so that they are aware that these are Folio notifications. Users will see a banner on the top of their Folio instance informing them of this change.
- Please inform your users if they are using the Email to Folio feature, that after October 21, 2023 they will need to use the new Email to Folio email address. I am a User, what do I do?
- As a user, you just need to be aware that you will receive Folio emails from the address noreply@foliogrc.com
- If you use the Email to Folio feature, you will need to remember to change your Email to Folio email address. The Email to Folio feature enables you to forward emails and attachments to Folio. Why are we making these changes?
- These changes will consolidate Folio’s infrastructure on the reliable and highly available Amazon Web Services platform.
- We will be using Amazon SES service hosted in Australia to provide Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) services for Folio.
- Emails processed through Email to Folio Feature will be stored at rest in Australia and Processed through Australian Servers.
Notification Central Improvements
- Notification Central Logs will be retained for 90 days, an increase from 30 days
- Notification Central Email previews will be increased from 3 days to 30 days
- Email subject is now a separate Column and is searchable.
- Notification Central by default will be filtered to the Accepted Event, but you may change the Event to any other Event Status.

- Check if the email has been spammed.
- Check if you should have received an email on that day, you can check in Notification Central if emails were sent.
- Check if your IT Department has whitelisted noreply@foliogrc.com
Why is my Email to Folio not working?
- The most likely reason for Email to Folio not working is that you have sent your email to the old Email to Folio Email Address.

- We will support your old Email to Folio email address until December 31, 2023.
